Firefighters tackle large blaze at London dairy
More than 75 firefighters were called to tackle a large-scale blaze at a dairy in west London yesterday (31st January).
London Fire Brigade attended the incident at Wood Lane in Shepherd's Bush at around 9.35am.
After discovering several unstable gas cylinders on the site, crews set up a safety cordon around the area before eventually brining the fire under control. Officers were due to remain on the scene overnight in order to dampen down the blaze.
It is believed around half of the large warehouse has been destroyed in the fire, as well as a range of workshops and about 20 vehicles located on the site.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, a fire risk assessment must be conducted on all commercial properties in England and Wales.
If a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment is not carried out, the Responsible Person faces up to two years in prison or an unlimited fine.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
